December 26th: ‘Groove X2’

Join Jim Hopson, Georges Couling in Groove X2

Known for his baby-faced charm and old-world charisma, Jim’s velvety-smooth trombone & vocal stylings run the gamut from heart-rending to show-stopping! Jim is a prolific composer/arranger, JUNO Award nominated session player, and one of BC’s most in-demand working musicians.

Georges holds a Bachelor of Applied Music Degree from Vancouver Community College (VCC), and studied jazz piano with some of Canada’s top pianists, including: Bob Murphy, Sharon Minemoto, Alan Matheson, and Bill Sample. Georges’s piano and keyboard styles cross over many genres, with influences ranging from: jazz great, Bill Evans; country legend, Floyd Cramer; to organists, John Medeski, Victor Axelrod, and Ray Manzarek. As a versatile and sought after musician, he can be heard regularly performing across Canada with roots rockers The Matinée, the afro-funk group Camaro 67, and The Jimmy Baldwin Band, to name a few.
